Welcome to Moura Motel

We have always provided good, old fashioned country hospitality and we are happy to announce that we have expanded our accommodation by adding a further 22 modern, new rooms. Over the past year we have also undertaken an extensive refurbishment of the rooms in the original wing.

While you are visiting our site, take a look at our accommodation styles, including our special rooms for families and disabled patrons. Learn a little about our town as well.

Moura is located on the Dawson Highway, 192 kilometers west of Gladstone and 676 kilometers north/east of Brisbane. We are a part of the Banana Shire and while our town is not large, it boasts it's own airfield, swimming pool, school and shops.

Known as 'The Coal and Cattle Centre of the Dawson', Moura is not a typical company town for miners. The region is mainly a rural area but has quite a mixture of ventures, such as the Queensland Cotton Gin located in town and the second largest wheat dump in Queensland; the huge silos can be seen from quite a distance. Just east of Moura is the Queensland Amonium Nitrate Plant and of course, the Moura Open-cut coal mine is nearby. The largest drag line in the world operates at this mine and it is gigantic.

Here at Moura Motel we know that travelers often have need of larger parking spaces, so, to cater for this we have extra large bays that are suitable for trailers, caravans and small trucks. We also offer a breakfast menu that covers everything from cereal and toast to a full cooked hearty meal. Lunches and other meals can be arranged, on request.

If you require a long stay, have a group to accommodate, or you want a complete package including meals, we can negotiate a special rate for you. Our prices start from $99 and offer good value.

We look forward to hearing from you when you are looking for a comfortable place to stay in Moura.
